  1. Added this to my Living Room to complete my ‘Mood Lighting’. Combined this with a few other lights and you got a perfect mode for entertaining guests in the evening.Best bit about this compared to some of the other Hue lights is that it looks attractive; its something you can have on a shelf without worrying about hiding.Only downside is its colour shades are a bit out compared to the other Hue units. (Ie if I set the shade as a ‘group’ of devices; this one wouldn’t match the others perfectly. Hence the 4 stars.

  2. Love being able to control this from the app or Siri and even now when away from home. Wish it was brighter and the range of colours is ok (not as broad as initially seems to be the case).Other apps (than the Hue one) provide options worth looking at.Had an initial problem detecting the lamp when I added to my bridge but there’s a manual option and that worked fine. It ‘lost’ connection once and you have to press the bridge to reconnect (which is ok if you’re physically there).I’m occasionally irritated that I can’t just press a switch. It would actually be quicker. The lamp itself is bigger than I expected but I quite like the design (it won’t suit all homes). Helps if you’ve neutral coloured walls as the light effectively ‘projects’ on to it. The cable length and requirement for a blank wall may limit your positioning.Worth looking at things like IFTTT etc to automate your Hue lights eg for when it gets dark of if you’re close to home. i like the fact that I can check whether the light is on from wherever I am (home or otherwise) and turn it on/off. Great if people in your house tend to leave lights forgotten and on all day…

  3. Great product and always wanted one but am now weary of them.We bought 4 of these on prime day. 2 have now failed and since been returned to amazon for replacements. This is a major concern to me as to their build quality and longevity. In a month half of them shouldn’t fail when they’re never touched or moved. They sit behind the settee and are controlled via the app so not touched at all. Crazy!Beware of reliability but the design, performance (when working) and product are all spot on
